I am impressed by the diligence which Mr. Callahan puts into his reporting and his public testimony.
In my opinion people like Bill Callahan and “Citizen” Ed Hauser (and many others) – WITHOUT EVEN BEING PAID - do such a much better job of researching, integrating, and testifying about public issues than do 99.9 percent of our tax paid-for politicians and other civic representatives.
We need to develop a political system where we can "vote-to-pay-per-view". When a politician or citizen provides what you consider valuable civic product or input – you can click their name on your computer and they’ll get a little income (like a paypal system) from your “civic payments” account.
And on the other hand, when one of our civic representatives does something ignorant, you’ll be able to click on their name and deduct a little payment which will go back into your individual “civic payments” account .
This will be “real time” pay - not only for our elected representatives, but for our civic volunteers.
No more waiting 4 years to vote a drudge out of office. With real-time civic payments/deductions, our representatives would smarten up right NOW and civic volunteers like Bill Callahan would get paid for what they do so well.
Our present “democracy” voting system is obsolete.
