An interesting story from Michigan: Lose your house, lose your vote I wonder if that will be the same for Ohio voters who are in foreclosure. Does anyone know?

Never doubt the power of the powers-that-be to keep us in the dark... (or as I was saying when the lights went out -) The Cincinnati Enquirer has stepped up to the role of media watchdog (not to be confused with irrational, unprovoked pit bull attacks)

DebFEE Doesn't Do MathSubmitted by rmill on Tue, 09/16/2008 - 18:05.
We learned from the debate opening and her own campaign website that DebFEE is still in school. That is good because her math is awful. Another example of not being ready for the day-to-day responsibilities of running county government, let alone questioning her abilities to manage a smallish city.

COMMISSIONERS GO PRIVATE AGAINSubmitted by Roldo on Tue, 09/16/2008 - 16:17.
You have to wonder why the County Commissioners have any staff, never mind a former stripper on the payroll. Having privatized the construction and management of the proposed Medical Mart and Convention Center, the Plain Dealer reports that it will hand MMPI (Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc.) the task of also dealing with Forest City Enterprises on the proposed site for the center.

Why We Call her DebFEESubmitted by rmill on Mon, 09/15/2008 - 19:32.
Why do we call her While she has taken to criticizing the County Commissioners and how they run the government, she has some work to do in her own town. You would think in an affluent Westside suburb like Bay Village there would be little to worry about. Not so under the management of DebFEE Sutherland.

Books, ideas, information, and when to buy a bookSubmitted by lmcshane on Fri, 09/12/2008 - 08:20.
I gave up. I am not going to finish the Power Broker by Robert Caro. It's a fat book with small type. The cover and spine are worn and about to give out. I am going to go out and buy it, so that I will stop monopolizing the worn library copy.

Decisions by Dinosaurs - How Not to Elect in the 11th DistrictSubmitted by Roldo on Mon, 09/08/2008 - 13:37.
How bad a shape are Cleveland and this area? As bad as it can get. Dinosaurs like Lou Stokes – for whom more buildings, roads and gutters are named than Tom Johnson – and Arnold Pinkney – who helped elect a mayor 40 years ago – are deciding who the next Congressman (woman) from the 11th district will be. Who gave them the right? Not me, not you.

A SUGGESTIONSubmitted by Roldo on Mon, 09/08/2008 - 08:42.
Maybe we should end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, bring the troops home and give the GI’s Kevlar flak jackets to our Cleveland children.
