I LIKE PEOPLE WHO CAN SPEAKSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 03/24/2009 - 22:59.
Joe, Joe, and Kevin (and Mr Sweeney out of sight on the dias to our left) are all eyes and ears because Zack had the planning/forsight to hold up a photo of a lady from his Ward - I believe he named her "the Mother of Mt. Pleasant" - as a "visual aid" when he was describing the damage that gerrymandering would do to the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood.

My Religion? Praying MantisSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 03/24/2009 - 15:59.
If you see one of these attached to a stalk of dry grass - be respectful. This is the cocoon of a praying mantis and the winter sleeping bag of your summer "envelope of protection" against insects that want your blood.

What time tonight is Cleveland City Council meeting re: gerrymandering?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Mon, 03/23/2009 - 16:47.
Here are two Cleveland City Councilors who are able to think independently from the political pack. Both Mr. Reed (on left) and Mr. Cummins (on right) were not hesitant this evening to challenge the Council "leadership". But the gerrymandering was a done deal.

BARCODE ISN'T HUMANSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 03/19/2009 - 13:14.
Barcode is “pulse” language. A thin collimated light source is reflected back into a reading device - off the ink printed black and white surface - and converted into electric pulses. ( categories: )
WHY DO UTILITY WORKERS READ NEWSPAPERS IN THEIR TRUCKS?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 03/18/2009 - 13:51.
All over the United States you will see electric, gas, steam, sewer, and telephone utility workers reading newspapers in the cabs of their trucks – with the truck idling - so it's cool in the summer and warm in the winter. But you haven’t ever seen a United Parcel Service or a Budweiser or a Staples delivery truck driver reading a paper in their cabs, have you?
Why is that…?

Old dog, New trick - motorbike with two front wheels!Submitted by Jeff Buster on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 16:31.
There will always be new mouse traps…
This bike has two front wheels. Have you ever seen a motor bike with two front wheels? I hadn’t until this last fall and today I fortunately bumped into Mark as he parked in front of a local store.

FAIREY MEETS THE GIANT - AUTHORITY VS OBEYSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 03/10/2009 - 14:45.
Shepard Fairey was the center of media attention this morning at the Brighton District Court House, in Brighton (a neighborhood in Boston) Massachusetts. The Boston Globe sent a reporter and a photographer, and the Boston Herald send a reporter. There were at least two other reporters present, but the TV media didn’t show. ( categories: )

If I were in charge of our economic recovery, I would establish 3 categories of national economic activity. 1.Positive 2.Neutral 3. Negative

WITH AIG, BIN LADEN DOESN’T NEED NUKES to DESTROY the USSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 03/08/2009 - 14:48.
On November 1, 2004, both CNN and Bloomberg News reported that a spoken objective of Osama Bin Laden was to bankrupt the United States. ( categories: )

LITTLE SIGNS OF LARGER LIESSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 03/03/2009 - 18:09.
You know all of us in NEO really rely on the Cleveland Cuyahoga Port Authority. Their docks are an extremely valuable economic asset to all of us taxpayers. Generate a lot of jobs – (thought the League of Women Voters couldn't find any substantiation for that claim last year when the Port sought a new tax levy).

COAST GUARD STATION - STILL AWAITING RE-USESubmitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 02/26/2009 - 16:11.
One sign that Clevehoga is frozen - all year long - is the vacant Coast Guard Station. A spectacular location, a spectacular building. But no ideas for re-use, and no effort to stabilize the deterioration. ( categories: )

A FICTIONAL ACCOUNT OF WHY MEDCON came to CLEVEHOGA OR WHY MAYOR BERYL E. ROTHSCHILD GOT SNOOKEREDSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Mon, 02/23/2009 - 18:04.
Once upon a time there was a guy named Tim Hagan – and John Carney was Tim’s friend. And JC was a key player in the Cuyahoga and Cleveland Port Authority (CCPA) which Authority could get million dollar bonds for parking lots and whatever.

TEHACHAPI TURBINES ON - WHILE CLEVEHOGA "STUDIES"Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 02/22/2009 - 16:08.
While Clevehoga is trying to measure the ice on Lake Erie (and the ice thickness which the"Task Force" is trying to measure is not even the critical or necessary measurement - it is pack ice, not floe ice, which is most apt to push over water based wind turbines) California and many other states are installing their second or third generations of improved wind turbines.

SOLAR STEAM GENERATORS near Boron, CalifroniaSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 02/22/2009 - 15:51.
Here is a larger view of the SESG plant east of Boron, California and just west of highway 395. I only posted this here to obtain a URL for the image to insert in the Header Image gallery comment on solar steam generators. I couldn't seem to attach a 5th image file in the original header post.

ENDORPHINS OR ANANDAMIDES?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/21/2009 - 13:45.
We have heard that getting a “runner’s high” is a motivation for our adult exercise focused friends to train for marathons, and we have seen our children in highly exhilarated moods after playing strenuously at the beach all day with their cousins or other kids. ( categories: )
Jeppeson Terminal - Denver's interesting half effort towards efficiencySubmitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 02/19/2009 - 16:51.
When Denver took a whole lot of sage brush (thousands of acres) and made a airport out of it - it was a from-scratch effort. Six levels of vehicle accesses on each side of the terminal allow busses, arriving passengers, departing passengers, service and others to use their very own level. ( categories: )
RONN RICHARD & BILL MASON ARE NIMBYSSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 02/18/2009 - 17:12.
While the Offshore Wind Energy “Task Force” [headed by Cuyahoga County Prosecutor William (Bill) Mason and partially funded (and more than partially focused) by the Cleveland Foundation which is headed by alternative energy enthusiast Ronn Richard] has been measuring the ice thickness on Lake Erie off of Cleveland, Ohio - a brand new third generation of turbine blades is being installed in wind farms in California.

HAIL CANNONSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 02/17/2009 - 18:31.
Last week I attended the World Ag Expo held in Tulare, California. I make it a point to attend exhibitions which challenge my legacy mind. Although I grew up on a farm, much has changed with the advent of Cesar Chavez and digital equipment engineering and GIS farming. So I thought it would be an eye opener to visit the Ag Expo with my brother to learn more about modern agricultural equipment. ( categories: )

REQUEST FOR SUPPORT: HELP SEND REALNEO TECH JEFF SCHULER TO DRUPALCONSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 01/31/2009 - 15:45.
DRILLING DOWN INTO DRUPAL
Since Norm Roulet created Realneo in 2004 many, many people have put thousands of hours of their volunteer time into producing quality content, and many people have made donations of time and money to pay for and maintain the machinery which operates Realneo. I will give just one typical example of what it takes to keep a web site operational: At one point about a year ago the url for Realneo expired. No one noticed because no one was notified because the old email in the whois for the url contact was dead. Eventually Realneo.us went dark because the domain registry extinguished the url. To get Realneo back on the web we bought the Realneo.org domain and temporarily used that url to redirect Realneo.us traffic to the servers. But all the Google links to Realneo.us were dead. It took me a week – 40 hours – of international telephone calls (the Realneo.us domain had originally been purchased through a domain re-seller in Toronto) and of back and forth emailing and calling to our server host (in British Columbia) before the Realneo.us url was finally made available to us again. During the renewal adventure I received a lot of help and tech education from Jeff Schuler – who I had recently met through another Realneo mutual friend. If you consider that it took me a week of volunteer time to JUST get back the url, then you can see that Mr. Schuler puts in a heck-of-a-lot of volunteer time because he is the person who does all of the following tasks which allow all the users and readers of Realneo to communicate:
