CLEVELAND PUBLIC LIBRARY: Social Sciences Book Club DiscussionSubmitted by newmillenniumli... on Sat, 11/14/2009 - 14:50.
The Social Sciences Department of the Cleveland Public Library is facilitating a non-fiction book club. Our discussion will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 12:00 PM in the Social Sciences Department. We will discuss the book entitled, "The Orgins of Christmas," by Joseph Kelly, professor at John Carroll University. When was Christmas first celebrated? How did December 25th become its date? When did the first Christmas music appear? Who was the real St. Nicholas, and how did he become the famous of all Christian saints? Professor Kelly ably answers such questions in this concise and readable account on the orgins of Christmas. Please join us for an intellectual discussion as the author, Professor Kelly will lead the book discussion. Feel free to bring your lunch and any questions you may have for the author. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there... and thank you for your patronage!!!
