Public Transit Youth Summit needs participantsAll-expenses-paid opportunity for high school students
CLEVELAND- Do you know an ambitious high school junior or senior who is interested in learning more about public transportation? Would they even be more interested if that meant an all-expenses paid trip to our nation’s capital?
The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is assisting the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) in its search for participants for the second annual Youth Summit to Advance Public Transportation on June 25 - 29, 2011.
High school juniors and seniors in the 2011-2012 school year are eligible to apply. Hurry, the application must be postmarked and received by APTA no later than April 22, 2011.
More details on the Public Transit Youth Summit: Students from across America will learn how public transportation can better our communities, while also exploring the exciting careers that are available through public transportation.
If selected, students will have all their expenses paid – an Amtrack ticket or airline ticket, transportation to and from the airport and housing, three meals a day, housing at Trinity Washington University, seminars to better understand public transportation and how to support their local transit agency. In addition, students will also be taken on sightseeing tours by APTA.
