Having already snubed The Dalai Lama, Obama prepares to bail on Nobel Peace Prize CommitteeSubmitted by Eternity on Wed, 12/09/2009 - 21:22.
Max Eternity - Bowing to pressure from the Chinese government earlier this year, President Barack Obama snubbed the Dalai Lama by refusing to meet with him while he was in town, visiting Washington D.C. Now in a second show of indignance toward those who espouse peace, sources have learned that Obama will not be attending the traditional ceremonies of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee when he arrives in Oslo this month to pick up his Nobel Award. Obama is often compared to Dr. Martin Luther King. King, who got much of his inspiration from Mohandas Gandhi was an African-American who led Blacks--the world--through the Civil Rights Movement, causing him to become America's most noted citizen of the 20th Century. And yet, with the Presidents recent escalation of the Middle-East war and occupation in Afghanistan, how can this be? Dr. King won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1954. And being a man who was the very manifestation of non-violent social change, clearly it was much deserved. And yet, does a comparison between Obama and King, accurately represent and truly serve well the legacy of men like Gandhi and Dr. King? The Huffington Post reports here.
