Daniel Goldmark studies American popular music, film and cartoon music, and the history of the music industry.  He published Tunes for ‘Toons: Music and the Hollywood Cartoon (Univ. of California, 2005) and co-edited The Cartoon Music Book (A Cappella, 2001) and Beyond the Soundtrack: Representing Music in Cinema (UC, 2007).  He spent several years working in the animation and music industries including research editor for Rhino Records in Los Angeles.  He has a Ph.D. in Musicology from University of California, Los Angeles.

This program is presented in conjunction with the sheet music display, "Sentimental Journey," located on the third floor of the Main Library.  The display features highlights from the library's sheet music collection of over 20,000 titles and will continue until the end of January 2008.
