Shameless plugSubmitted by lmcshane on Wed, 02/20/2008 - 18:29.
I am at home now, so I am allowed to say this: If you live in the City of Cleveland, Meet the Bloggers produced an insightful interview with Holly Carroll and Pam Eyerdam of Cleveland Public Library. Please give it a listen. Please also visit your local library. If you haven't been able to visit lately, you will be surprised by the breadth and depth of our services. Most importantly, we provide the equity of service that allows any one, from any income level, to develop and master the computer skills they need to compete in a global economy. I can not make a more emphatic plea: Please, vote for our children on Tuesday, March 4th. This is a critical election at the local, state and federal level. You hold the future in your hands.

Libraries big winners
Nice to see CPL win by a large spread... Shaker as well...
Schools around town didn't do so well.

Thank you to my neighbors
It's my daily mantra. I try to live up to the commitment and responsibility conferred with a vote of confidence.
I hope that my coworkers from the top on down also appreciate the effort made by our City of Cleveland residents, and that collectively, we can and do renew our commitment to do our best.
(I will also do my best to self-edit before posting and to spell words correctly!)
Election shows voices and choices
I think the results of the recent election should be analyzed with an eye to what this region is capable of doing for itself in the future. Bottom line, most suburbs do not appear to plan to pay their share of costs for their children to learn, while voters at the core of the Greater Cleveland area in poverty vote overwhelmingly to fund their libraries.. If regionalism means paying the toll for 1,000,000s of burbillies who do not value arts, culture, education or much of anything else that seems important to society, then the entire concept is a joke. Cleveland proper is a plum... the region is rotten.
