Jeff Buster's blogWhat if a Government were the venture capitalist behind FACEBOOK?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/25/2012 - 20:15.
Facebook IPO, now, why? Riding the curve is what VC's do. They want to ride it up. Oh, do they want to ride it UP! But, if the VC's have an admonition, if VC's see the curve only going up for a bit more, then the time to go public is ASAP. (heard on the Street: Google's on their ass with +, plus a search engine which Facebook don't have) __________________________________ Maybe all this is just distraction. Chicken Leg Carry Out - Wealthy People Create Jobs - PIESubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/25/2012 - 13:19.
Money must be concentrated in a few people's pockets (or electronic accounts) for "jobs" to be created. Concentration of wealth is what has made America Great. ( categories: )

Norm Roulet's image of the floor of the store where Salim Alsoliman was murdered -Submitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 02/23/2012 - 23:18.
Mr. James Rokakis, ex Cuyahoga County Treasurer and new land bank guy, in response to very appropriate questions about transparency of the land bank from Cleveland City Councilman Brian Cummins at the City Club of Cleveland, made a few disparaging comments about "citizen journalists" who were "up at 3 am" posting unflattering comments about JR to the internet. I Salute GuySubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 02/19/2012 - 20:24.
This image is the second most popular item on Realneo. Guy knows. Google Analytics shows that a search for "homeless man" returns - under images - realneo as second or third with Guy's posted image (above). I have to say that Guy knows what everyman is interested in, and is savvy enough to post the info here to Realneo, where the content is preserved.

IS OUR SYSTEM HONEST? OR ARE WE ALL SUCKERS?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 02/19/2012 - 18:52.
Pacific Electric had over 500 miles of inter urban track in Los Angeles in the early 1900's. The image shows the "Red Cars" stacked for sinking in Los Angeles Harbor - sunk austensibly for "fish habitat", but really sunk for General Motors Corporation profit. ( categories: )
US Industry - when it was belt driven and #1 - not like nowSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/18/2012 - 22:36.
First it was waterpower, then it was coal fired steam power. 3000 horse power boilers feeding line shafting through out a huge multi storied brick New England Mill. Machines like these - drill presses, planers, lathes, - all turning, mechanically powered through line shafts and leather belting. Amazing. ( categories: )

H5N1 is a secret - well, what's secret is how it was mutated.... The World Health Organization (WHO) will release the info about H5N1 later - much later. ( categories: )

Is Evacuating Cleveland of residents - ACTUALLY GOOD financially for the municipal burearocracy AND large business?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 20:49.
As I age I try to force myself - on every issue (on multiple levels) - to think backward - to think upside down. To think like I was crazy. To think like I was evil minded. To think like I was rational and above it all . To not think and jerk my knee. OUT OF THE BOX!!! What's the answer?....

Our Government is lying to us - and we believe the lie - feels good!Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/11/2012 - 21:17.
These analogue TV's dumped in front of book donation boxes are a lucid example of how our government - local, state, and federal - miserably fails us. Across the United States corporations are encouraged to SELL SELL SELL (our "economy" is 70% "consumer" driven) - and yet our legislators never ask the obvious question: |What's going to happen to all the old crap which the new crap displaces? When will pattern analysis search return genetic code?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/11/2012 - 19:32.
Both of these images show organically produced fiber - and both the fiber in the donkey's fur and the fiber in the American white ash have extremely similar wavey structure. Is there a similar gene in the wood fiber and hair fiber which is associated with the wavy-ness? ( categories: )
image too full of shadow - HDR can helpSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 23:45.
Computer + camera = faster (but usually not better) than the eye. But faster than our brains. High Dynamic Range (HDR) image capture is a high speed multiple sampling - with the camera's built in computer analyzing the underexposed and overexposed frames and combining them. ( categories: )
Deutsches Museum - Museum of Science and Technology in Munich, Germany - Cleveland has Rock and Roll?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 02/08/2012 - 21:39.
If you put this image into Wolfram|Alpha Pro - ? At one point in time Cleveland - about 50 years go - was the headquarters for more than 50 of the top 500 American Corporations. Many of those corporations were industrial manufacturers. ( categories: )
Mr. Dimora is now working for the taxpayers - ironicallySubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 02/07/2012 - 20:57.
Mr. Dimora was always about 15 minutes late to meetings he attended - I was there. Just a little slap in the public's face, no matter. Now, however, with the ongoing federal trial in Akron, Ohio, Mr. Jim Dimora is finally giving us taxpayers a little value. ( categories: )

Composite Structure - tire with tensile and compressive elements - like fiberglassSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/04/2012 - 20:35.
The image above is of the Goodyear Wrangler tire which blew out on the rear axel of my van. Every car has a tire constructed just like this. Fabric (polyester, etc) cord running across the tire, and steel cord alligned around the circumference of the tire. Synthetic rubber everwhere in between. When it blows up - this is what it looks like. De-lamination. ( categories: )
When the conversation is so scintillating your mind is on fire - REI TuesdaysSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/04/2012 - 18:12.
Civil Discourse in Cleveland hit its high with Ed Morrison's Regional Economic Iniciatives , (Betsy Merkel and Susan Altshuler organizing Ed) (and Craig and Sue James as facilitators). Sorry City Club, your conversations are 1 way. I was lucky to find out about these Tuesday afternoon free civic meetings by chance. Don't really know why I went... ( categories: )
Women mechanics - why not?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/04/2012 - 10:53.

Now and Then - harvesting salt from an evaporation pondSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 02/03/2012 - 11:35.
The image above shows the harvesting of salt from the Cargill salt ponds on the southern end of Bonaire, WI. There are just two employees - one operating the Caterpillar dozer and one driving the Caterpillar belly dump. The belly dump is filled to overflowing in just a few minutes. Much of this salt gets shipped by sea to the icy parts of North America for road de-icing. ( categories: )
Stucco weathering patterns - what explains these?Submitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 02/01/2012 - 18:50.
The image above shows a pattern of weathering erosion in the stucco surface on the easterly facing vertical wall of a masonry building on Bonaire, WI. Stucco is applied to the wall with a trowel from a mortar hod - the mortar is loaded into a hod after the stucco is mixed in a rotary mixer or mixed in a wheelbarrow or on at flat surface. They say that the best camera is the one you have with you. It's true. Carry a camera, and you are more apt to get the images. _____________________________ When I went to my friend's gas station, there was Larry, reading the newspaper next to the desk in the office, with his glasses almost falling off his face.
