Hard to believe that Norm Roulet introduced the concept of accountability and social media to Northeast Ohio--almost ten years, ago.
Since then, Facebook, Twitter and other network sites have broken down the Establishment's Rules of Engagement.

My "fallout" with Norm (and "the Jeffs") resulted from my simply asking them to comply with their own Terms of Use - and delete my account. I asked nicely, several times. I was either ignored, lied to or censored.

so when are you going to make it
So you have to register under your true name and not be able to keep, post under any 'handles?' as I see a couple here yet who trash and ruin your site at will yet, and attack people without merit to do so. Delete all fake name and handles, period and any trashing threads they put up.
Might make your site here worth quite a bit more if you ever wished to consider selling it, for sure. And even when you add advertising sponsoring, companies/ people could be glad they were here instead of seeing people post under fake handles that would stop the company from even considering placing an ad on this site. Kids play is costing you - fact, not an opinion.

You own realNEO - I donated any rights I had to it to Real Coop years ago - I'm not even on the board of Real Coop so I have no control of that. I'm just a disgruntled member, like you.
For two years I have been demanding the board of Real Coop have elections of a new board and officers and they refuse - Jeff Buster is responsible for that obstruction of justice - for the past two years, Debra Sheppard and other active members were asked by me to help redevelop the board and fix the problems here - now she acts like she didn't know these problems.
It seems to me now she has always been a troll here - protecting the interests of polluters everywhere.
I've been through worse - this other near West Side lunatic Tim Russo went on a full force attack campaign against me and my family. It seems Tim and Debra are friends... there is some serious cancer around here.
realNEO has been abused by Debra Sheppard and many other sad souls here.
We will eventually straighten out the terms of use and technology of realNEO to prevent such psychotic actions again - the rules have always been one account per real person and some people chose to break the rules. They are no longer welcome in the community.

Show the FAKER registered people's handles all posting from the same ISP address, maybe that would alert them you are entitled to do such a thing because they broke the rules. AND THEN THEY WOULD DELETE THOSE FAKE HANDLE NAMES, POSTS AND THREADS and self-govern themselves because they fear that their true pranks and hit and misses done behind the hidden names, would really show their agenda. If they are not a fake, no issues. If anyone is posting under more then one account, show all of the duplicates or several ones and all of the different names, handles used, connected to the same ISP account.

If you de man, please let's hear from you then about the idea of shining light onto the multipule fake handles all posting (which are really one person) and expose the ISP's (or the first /last numbers of that ISP) of that list of same posters using it. (see above 'so, if I own it' post) and the real NAME of that list of fakers. You yourself said some are posting as many as 4-5 dif handles. Let's put an end to breaking rules; 'spec, one's that hurt the true meaning of this site. Growth and solving problems. One that allows people to come together, NOT driven apart. One that will attrack a number of MORE professional people (and be able to hold them) to post good content, projects that matter and add to the issues/ theme of things for Cleveland and surrounding.

Norm deserves full credit for founding REALNEO, but in 2007 this much-needed forum almost collapsed due to funding and structural issues. Jeff Buster paid to regain the domain, paid the server and resolved frequent site crash issues. Susan Miller recruited Jeff Schuler to install and repair Open Source Drupal Content Management System used to make this website more accessible to anyone who joins and posts content here--Jeff Schuler mostly volunteered this service.
Visit past social network blog attempts--Voices/Choices, Meet the Bloggers, and Brewed Fresh Daily--you can see that these have not survived. Recently, foundations have pumped big money into Civic Commons and it, too, is not happening. I joined and I look at the site every so often--and witness that our political representation is not engaged at the site, but reps* have engaged here.
As a professional in the business of saving the record--I am concerned that digital records will not survive. To me, this site is a media experiment.
Like past, current and possibly future contributors--I get sick of the bickering and the dysfunctional family here at REALNEO. But, I want it to survive. Keep your own personal record of material that you value here. Folks in Cuyahoga County administration, and elsewhere, want REALNEO to fail. It is a mirror that reflects our society. And, it's not looking that good right now.

Fighting to Learn..
When you don't have money to get a great education and college funds fall to the wayside....
Sometimes you fight to learn the things that some have had blessings of college educations to learn.
Sometimes you fight to know what's going on.
Sometimes you fight to seek the truth.
But, sometimes, you get angry because so many formally educated folks abuse the system and deprive the public of their rights....and they LIKE IT WHEN WE FIGHT AMONGST OURSELVES....
BECAUSE IT KEEPS US DISTRACTED FROM learning what's going on in our communities, it keeps us lost in confusion, and it keeps the truth swept under a carpet....building up...just waiting for us to "Trip over it!"
I don't know all and I love to learn.
But, with knowledge of the truth comes decisions, frustrations, anger and discussions that lead to more info....most often labeled as "arguments"...
Just because we "talk with passion" to figure things out....DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE ARE FIGHTING!
I love my family....and at least while we are "fighting"...we are still talking (maybe even yelling)... we are still communicating and exchanging the thoughts that we are working through til resolve...
It's when we go silent that we need to be really worried.
It's interesting to watch the informally educated talk until they understand topics which they are not informed about. Some will yell, some will make jokes, some will defend what they think is true to the death with arbitrary and contrite statements, and some will go quiet listening to learn. What's more intriguing is watching the formally educated react to these dynamics of those trying to learn outside the box...
Be well in your life all.... Enjoy some great learning sessions at all levels. Appreciate the wisdom of "not knowing" because sometimes ignorance is bliss....
Or... just smile and let the rest deal with the topics.... save your energy for the basics.

Don't overestimate the "learning" that may
or may not occur during formal education. Most certainly, don't underestimate the learning that occurs without it. American history, and your own, is full of examples of persons excelling in their own way without a boxload of degrees and certificates. It still happens. Pay close attention. BTW, a few weeks back I posted something about Lincoln's (How many people, a century-and-a-half later, can just be referred to as "Lincoln", "Smith", etc.?) skepticism about formal education and his success.
You made a strong point--passionate language is not fighting. It is helpful if it clarifies matters. It can reveal important points. The opposite of love is not hate---it is disinterest, apathy.
As to silence--and its power and meaning--it might at least allow for better listening. Good songwriters know the need for points of silence. In music, they're "rests". Too many eighth and sixteenth notes just clutter up the passage. For me, it's hard to beat a waltz or polka's simple 3/4 time. Most rock is only 4/4, even if it does go uptempo. ("Take it uptown"). Let's not lose the passage. It's the big difference between Old Country and new. The Clinch Mountain Gap road to the Morristown pike beats the Interstate anyday. Just be careful. Watch the twists and turns. If you're running late, maybe you oughta take the Interstate. Run, run Rudolph.
Oh yeah......I had a journalism teacher at LWHS and he overheard me use that "Ignorance is bliss" line back in the day. To no one in particular, I think, he cracked "Then some of us should be pretty happy". THAT was teaching--like your distinction between (mere) "topics", and, "basics". Keep it up.
