Dates of upcoming O.D.O.T. Question & Answer meetings

Since I had only one day notice of the meeting, I complained and found that other people had had earlier notices and Sammy Catania had provided Henry Senyak with a list of dates. I suggested they be put in the newsletter. Well, the date it has to go to the printer doesn't allow for that. Well, print the whole list! Fortunately, the helpful Public Information Officer sent me the list, and here it is! I hope in the future to not be the only one raising questions/from the board.

1) July 13th 2011 – 5:30 – 6:30 pm – Sokolowski’s University Inn, 1201 University Avenue
2) August 10th 2011- 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Sokolowski’s University Inn, 1201 University Avenue
3) September 20th 2011 – 4PM-7PM – Lincoln Park – In conjunct with the Tremont Farmers Market and The Tremont Safety Fair (This is the ONLY Tuesday Meeting ) **NOTE: IF RAIN – SAME DATE AND TIME BUT WILL BE HELD INDOORS AT OLA ST JOSEPH SCHOOL HALL
4) October 12th 2011 – 5PM-6PM – Sokolowski’s University Inn, 1201 University Avenue
5) November 9th 2011 – 5PM-6PM – Sokolowski’s University Inn, 1201 University Avenue
6) December 14th 2011- 5PM-6PM – Sokolowski’s University Inn, 1201 University Avenue
 
The meetings at Sokolowski's are in the big back room. The one in July started promptly, unlike the one before which didn't start until quite late, and the door at the back was locked. I was 5-10 minutes late but got in by the door leading directly into the room, by the fireplace. It will probably be locked next time. So come early at at least a few minutes before 5 p.m.!

I have not been keeping upon this  as much as I would like, however, due to some information I recently received, I will be attending the August 10, 2011, meeting.

Anyone with input and/or information regarding the added parking lot plans, please feel free to contact me at jerleenjustus [at] yahoo [dot] com.  You can leave your name and phone number and I will get back to you.

Further, we need to be more active and demand accountability for how this money is spent.  (hope it's not tagged for the TWDC managed/funded parking facility on Abbey)

The nine community programs receiving awards are:

• Detroit Shoreway Community Development Corp, $225,000.

• Slavic Village Development, $221,500.

• Buckeye Area Development Corp., $195,000

• Northeast Shores Development Corp., $195,000.

• Ohio City Near West Development Corp., $195,000.

• Tremont West Development Corp., $195,000.

• Burten Bell Carr Development Corp., $190,000.

• Fairfax Renaissance Development Corp., $190,000.

• Famicos Foundation, $190,000.
