Police say man and woman were killed in police chase (my police source: they shot at police & yelled you better not chase us)

The bullet-riddled Chevrolet Malibu SS was carefully hauled from a cul-du-sac on Wymore Road outside the Heritage Middle School to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office for examination.

The Medical Examiner's office has tentatively identified the two as a 30-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man. Other information was not released pending notification of next of kin. Early police reports of the chase and shooting had said the two suspects were both men.

They were killed in a hail of bullets late Thursday night fired by an undetermined number of Cleveland police officers who pursued the car from the Justice Center in a winding path through city streets, onto the Shoreway and into East Cleveland.

The chase started around 10:30 p.m. when a police officer said one of the people in the car fired a gunshot in his direction.
