video - The Original Gratitude Dance! - Be grateful and have some fun everydaySubmitted by Quest-News-Serv... on Thu, 08/13/2009 - 02:08.
We started the Gratitude Dance out of moment of celebration at a coffee shop in Victoria, BC while writing our book on Manifesting Awesomeness. Out of this little jig came the idea to film it and put it on Youtube. Little did we know that it was just the beginning of our journey of understanding the power of gratitude and the power it has had on our lives. Be grateful and have some fun. We are Matthew Ashdown and Brad Morris, known globally as "The GratiDudes" (www.theGratiDudes.com)...thanks to a guy who gifted us with this name. We are the originators of the silly Gratitude Dance that's spreading across the world! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9z2ELaBVJY click We are Matthew Ashdown and Brad Morris, known globally as "The GratiDudes" (www.theGratiDudes.com)...thanks to a guy who gifted us with this name. Dancing
Guy, we were fortunate to have the Passport Project at our library this week. I hope that the kids came away with something. It's no fun to dance alone in life. It helps to have a community and, preferably, a community that can share food, music and DANCE.
Mandalas, circles and coming together are themes, I wish we could explore more, especially as we see beautiful churches allowed to mothball and fall apart in the City of Cleveland. It helps to have a shared culture to bring us together, but if we could only find an American way to dance together--a circle dance that welcomes all people of all ages.
This video is okay and it inspires the right message, but like all things American, it's a bit gimmicky and tacky at the same time. There is also spirituality in dance. I think we are missing so much, when we do have the right stuff here in NEO to make communities that could and should be able to dance.
I am grateful
I woke up feeling the kind of sadness and depression, I haven't felt in a long time. I used to be a teenager with very little optimism, hope, and confidence in myself or the world. I tried your suggestion, Guy. I feel better:
I AM GRATEFUL. I live in a neighborhood where I can walk to work and if I choose not to drive a car, I can walk, ride my bike, or catch a bus to an interesting arts event, cultural performance or to find a great place to eat dinner. I can watch people and still enjoy nature nearby. I will now do the silly dance and get on with my day. Off to Lincoln Park to swim :)
See you there, Eternal Guy :)
