 University Circle is proud to offer a variety of events and  activities in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  FREE Shuttle Buses UCI will provide free shuttle buses to the institutions in University Circle who are hosting events on Monday, January 17 (Maltz Museum is not on the shuttle route). One bus will run from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and the other will run from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The shuttles will stop at the following locations: The Western Reserve Historical Society, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland Public Library - Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch, Karamu House, The Children's Museum of Cleveland, and Severance Hall. The Rink  at Wade Oval Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day at The Rink at Wade Oval. As  always, admission is free, and skate rentals are only $3. FREE. Learn about the plant and crop contributions of African-Americans  in agriculture. Come celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., enjoy  gallery tours, gallery conversations, a faith based panel discussion,  musical selections, hands-on art activities, diverse dance workshop and a  host of other art based experiences planned for families and friends  with touchable objects, and musical performances. www.clevelandart.org Cleveland  Museum of Natural History Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Monday, January 17, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. FREE. The museum will have a special program for the kids in the Smead  Discovery Center called, “Meet an Entomologist." An entomologist is  someone who studies insects. Children will be able to ask questions and  examine insect specimens with magnifiers.The planetarium will be open  and tickets are available for $1/person. The Extreme Mammals  exhibit will also be available with a ticket for $5/person. Parking is a  flat rate of $5 for the day. www.cmnh.org The Cleveland Orchestra Severance Hall – Martin Luther King Jr. Community Open House Monday, January 17, Noon-5:00 p.m. FREE. Severance Hall joins the city-wide celebration of Martin Luther  King Jr.’s life with a Community Open House offering instrumental,  vocal, and spoken-word performances. Spend the day at Severance Hall or  stop by to see community music ensembles and performances by the  Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Youth  Chorus. This community open house is sponsored by Medical Mutual of  Ohio. Join us for our annual commemorative program in celebration of the  achievements Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with our guest speaker, George  Fraser, president of FraserNet. See special exhibition The Nazi Olympics: Berlin 1936 ; visit the American Story and Temple-Tifereth Israel Gallery where stories of those who have overcome prejudice and discrimination come alive.  The Western Reserve Historical Society will offer a variety of free activities in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. After viewing the Soul Soldiers exhibition, join the WRHS education department from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. in showing appreciation for the service of veterans by writing a note with your own personal message. At 2:00 p.m., historian John Vacha presents The Cleveland Case of Sarah Lucy Bagby , the last slave returned under the Fugitive Slave Act. At 3:00 p.m., learn about Cleveland students' perspectives on the Civil Rights Movement. All day long, bring your youngest mind to enjoy Kidzibits , WRHS's new preschool learning space.
