Rebecca Ryan of Next Generation Consulting at the City Club of Cleveland: Generation X Has SpokenSubmitted by Sudhir Kade on Mon, 09/19/2005 - 14:01.
09/22/2005 - 11:00 In place of our usual Tuesday Excellence Roundtable lunch, we encourage all our friends to join us for lunch at the City Club Thursday, September 22, to experience the insight of Generation-X expert and good friend of NEO Excellence Rebecca Ryan. We have reserved space for other Roundtable friends who would like to sit together - please let me know ASAP if you will attend with us - norm [at] realinks [dot] us. Here's the subject: What does this region need to do to keep the next generation here and ensure a strong economic future? This year, the Greater Cleveland Partnership set out to find those answers. In July 2005, the Partnership commissioned Next Generation Consulting, headed by Rebecca Ryan, to conduct eight focus groups of a very diverse set of Generation Xers (1964-1980) to pinpoint the areas of strategic importance to them beyond what we already know, such as our cost of living is low. Instead, they analyzed the leading indexes in Cleveland that contribute to a strong community of GenXers. The results of the study, which is complimentary to the work Next Generation is doing for the Akron Regional Development Board, will be unveiled at this special program. The findings will help guide area business and civic leaders on what they must pay attention to today in order to ensure GenX is here tomorrow. Rebecca Ryan has a keen eye for trends, and presents them to professionals at all levels. Next Generation Consulting, a talent cooperative united by a curiosity for discovering the best within human systems, studies, sorts and packages trends in ways that compel corporations and communities to think, talk and act in ways that support stimulating, humane and sustainable environments. Ryan has been named Woman of Influence by the “Business Journal,” the 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year by the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and was a semi-finalist in “Fast Company” magazine’s Fast 50 awards.
