While the Plain Dealer and Rokakis want you to look the other way--land deals benefitting the "right" people continue in broad daylight--everyday. While the "wrong" people get the Kafka treatment. June 2008--Their idea of investment. Last time, I rode my bike by this site on Stanford Ave, adjacent to Deaconess, it smelled of gas fumes. Actually, you can ride your bike throughout Cleveland and catch two kinds of gas smells--natural gas, because the pipes throughout the city are corroding--and, methane gas, from the sanitary sewer lines.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See also: http://realneo.us/content/cardboard-homes-salecheap Land Development in the City of Cleveland. Unfinished Cardboard homes that have caused blight in the area for years. City of Cleveland officials doubt that they can recover the $688,000 loan that was awarded to Ameri-Con Homes when the company promised to build 150 townhouses and condominiums on West 53rd Street, near Interstate 90. Ameri-Con abandoned its plans in 2007 after building six homes and selling three. The land was sold at auction in 2008 and was bought by Marc Strauss and Doug Perkowski. Two years later, the property remains in limbo. The unfinished cardboard homes are an eyesore. Ameri-Con's pullout left lenders including Huntington, Village Capital Corp. and the city of Cleveland empty-handed. Huntington put roughly $2.75 million into a construction loan for Ashbury Towers, while the city lent developers nearly $688,000 to build affordable housing. Taxpayers lost $688,000.

Rokakis?? Questions for our treasurer
Have taxpayers footed the bill again? What now for Aberdeen Investments, who have had their lots cleared at taxpayer expense? Is this to be "reimagined" Cleveland?
Why did the demolition for the townhouses on Stanford Ave. in Cleveland cost so little to Aberdeen Investments --see liens
--and why
does Aberdeen Investments Inc. still own this property??
Ask E4S and Peter McDermott
Ask E4S and Peter McDermott - this is all their fault, and the fault of their relatives.
Disrupt IT
Did you go yesterday?
What can you report back after the City Club presentation? I will listen to it sometime when I can hold down my food.
No, I've decided the problem is not Rokakis, in my life
No, I've decided the problem is not Rokakis, in my life... I'm spending my time going after the really bad guys in unreal NEO, like Beach, Lefkowitz, Nemeth, DeAloia, Mulready, Ronayne, our Councilmembers and Mayors....

Deflecting attention
http://www.localfoodcleveland.org/profile/PeterMcDermott .
How do Peter McDermott, David Beach, et al. collect and determine our local tax revenue and distribution and availability of real estate now with the Cuyahoga County Land Bank??
Norm--Rokakis and, more importantly, his handlers are the problem.
Who are the handlers determining the great real estate shell game in NEO? I suppose if any one bothered to consider the developers who donate to Rokakis' campaign fund--we might have the answer to that question, but since the Plain Dealer is part of that great cover-up and is orchestrating the real estate operations for the Opportunity Corridor and Bond Accountability Commission for CMSD...we'll never know.
Reimaginging Sustainable Cleveland 2019 is the problem here
Reimaginging Sustainable Cleveland 2019 is the problem here - simple as that.

Series of sell-outs
We, the few, the proud, long-time residents of Ward 15 and Ward 16 have been served (or is it serviced?) by a string of sell-out representatives far removed from our once bucolic community. Will the Plain Dealer ever bother to write about it?
I believe that is your responsibility...
Unless there are some PD folks living in your neighborhood, I doubt any of their writers are really paying attention to your concerns. Probably the best way to raise that is to write about it here, as you do. Get more of your neighbors to join the dialogue here!
Disrupt IT
PD writers in the city
Are there any PD writers living in the city? That would be my question of the day.
Cardboard crap
Don't fool yourself. See above photos. This is what "new" housing in Cleveland and inner ring suburbs really looks like in due time. Mold is the least of your problems. Now, why would you want to pay $400,000 for one of these models of fine construction?
CDCs, HUD monies, Demos, Reimagining!
PD--I would like to know the history of investors behind this project--Aberdeen Homes in Old Brooklyn. Demolished at taxpayer cost. See original post above. See tax balance below as of 9/14/2011--Aberdeen Investments still owns property cleared for by taxpayers. This while, Frank Giglio's life was destroyed for his measley trumped-up tax lien.
The new Auditor--now labeled fiscal agent--is Wade Steen to replace Frank Russo. Check out the number of folks with significant tax liens...

*We've worked very hard to find investors and countless hours to assist in ensuring the properties have been secured and maintained. Please be careful in commenting on things such as subsidies and unequivocal statements that second guess this activity. Ask questions and I'll be happy to try to elaborate a three to five year chronic problem.
Overall, this project was a solid concept in its origin. I was the CDC Director at Old Brooklyn CDC when we entered into a Memo of Understanding with the Developer. The Developer acquired the properties and the CDC assisted with work with the City Departments and was to receive a total of $2,000 or 3,000 per unit fee that would of included oversight of the quality of the project and marketing the units upon completion. This was back in 2003-04 toward the end of the new construction boom.
Pray tell also--How does a property with delinquent taxes transfer from one Lucky Ogor to Ikan Associates??? Mr. Ogor and his wife own a number of properties with tax liens, which they rent to Section 8 in the "city." Meanwhile, he and his wife have no problem paying the taxes on their Beachwood home...and yet, no one sold these liens to Plymouth Park...under the previous Treasurer Jim Rokakis.
Sharon Dumas - same Aberdeen?
