Cuyahoga County expects the Medical Mart fund to be at about $80 million by the end of this year. That’s a few million dollars less than expected because sale tax revenue has been down. However, that doesn’t include investment earnings that add to the fund.

November 21, 2009, the Cleveland Plain Dealer published a get-out-of-jail-free editorial for seemingly life-term Cleveland Port Authority dictator John Carney, and his board of directors - "A Cleveland Port Authority board already wounded can't afford conflict-of-interest charges -- editorial" - that fully acknowledges "the port is so broke it may not be able to assure continued operations of the Cleveland harbor, much less pay to relocate and expand". Yet, the PD editors do not call for changes to the current Port Board. Quite the opposite, the PD empowers them to move into the real estate development business... despite their bond rating having sunk near junk.

Ohio’s Senator George Voinovich was the only U. S. Senator to not cast a vote yesterday on moving the historic health care bill. It didn’t make a difference since his would have been the 40th Republican vote against moving the bill to a floor vote.

Tremont's little sign that was severed by hacksawers and dropped into an orphan hole is now standing proud and tall back in it's proper place. We owe many thanks to everyone who put forth so much effort enforcing the law in dealing with the hacksawer and his whack job. Question is, will the scandalous whacker and his saws-all strike again?

This is the base section of a chimney - I caught it going east on I90 in Pennsylvania. This section weights 46,000lbs and is about 22 feet in diameter. Wind turbine towers are fabricated at about 13 feet in diameter so they can be shipped on the interstate and clear the bridges which are about 13'6". But this chimney section demonstrates that there is another way to build wind turbine towers with much larger diameters (albeit shorter sections).

The image above shows a tire plug installed right at the edge of the radial tread - just on the edge of the sidewall of a radial tire. This is not a good place to plug a tire.
