I challenge President Obama, here in the most lead poisoned community in America today, surrounded by the worst leadershipSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Wed, 09/08/2010 - 10:22.
How Do You Raise Lead Poisoned Children In A Community That Doesn't Care About Lead Poisoning? Best You Don't! I have the misfortune of having begun doing that - raising children here in Northeast Ohio, where leadership refuses to do the right things about lead poisoning - and I have children who are lead poisoned, and there is not adequate help for them here, and we are moving them away. That they are lead poisoned and there is not adequate help for them here puts them at a disadvantage for life, globally, as most children around the world are now protected from the harm of this industrial poison spewed and spread across our land by evil industrialists for over a century - and still found in household products sold by evil industrialists in America today. Most communities have had better leaders - less polluted leaders - over time, than we have had here in Northeast Ohio. Most communities are far better, safer places to live, than Northeast Ohio. I know and will not lose arguments on the subject. I will continue to educate people here and worldwide about the subject - I will write extensively about the subject. I challenge President Obama, here in the most lead poisoned community in America today, surrounded by the worst leadership in America today, to do something about our lead poisoning crisis today.

The results of poor leadership, poor management and poor strategies are measured in real econometrics, every daySubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sat, 08/14/2010 - 07:12.
As I explain to "outsiders" what obstacles to true economic development we are confronting here in Northeast Ohio, I point to the concluding half of my "Preamble: Real Co-op for Open Food, Information and Community Development 2009", where I explain "you can't manage what you don't measure. Leadership here does not want to be measured." At that time - February, 2009 - I explained the risk from having poor local leadership was greatest then, as we had just brought into office a wonderful new President, who must stimulate bad local, state, national and global economies... we had tough battles ahead requiring good local footsoldiers, as $ billions in NEW federal funding initiatives was flowing our way.

Doctors at University Hospitals Should Turn In Their Licenses to Practice Medicine, as HypocritsSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Wed, 08/11/2010 - 10:25.
The Hippocratic Oath is an oath historically taken by doctors swearing to practice medicine ethically. As they do not practice medicine ethically, all Doctors at University Hospitals Must Turn In Their Licenses to Practice Medicine - including my Father - as they do more harm than good as they pollute this community with soot from burning coal that is unnecessary and that causes certain harm and death to area citizens - especially the young, old, poor, black and weak... and these supposed "doctors" know that very well now.

Dear Ronn: realNEO statistics indicate our content is well trafficked by Cleveland Foundation staffSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sat, 07/31/2010 - 08:11.
Dear Ronn: realNEO statistics indicate our content is well trafficked by Cleveland Foundation staff, so I won't preface my comments with introductions... we know each other well. The Roulet family is in a position whereby my parents have accumulated $ millions in wealth through investment of their incomes working for or affiliated with University Circle institutions - Case, University Hospitals and the Cleveland Institute of Art - and they intend to donate much of their wealth to those and similar causes - except those institutions burn coal, and do so in a harmful way that has been highly deceptive and has resulted in direct physical and financial harm to members of the family: myself, wife and children... indirectly and directly harming our friends and their family. As such, my family has less money than it should, my parents' money is tainted by their employers having burned coal throughout their careers... and much of their money is intended for institutions that to this day cause harm by burning coal when there are ready alternatives... and those institutions show no real intent nor good will to stop.

Canadian Hemp Factory to Create Jobs, Green Energy, and Economic Stimulus By Joyce Cassin - Sunday, January 25 2009
After nearly 10 years of research and development in industrial hemp, Stonehedge Bio- Resources Inc. of Sterling is ready to lead the way in commercializing hemp in North America. Building on a business case developed through the Eastern Lake Ontario Regional Innovation Network (ELORIN), Stonehedge is now set to establish a bioprocessing facility in Eastern Ontario to serve North American markets. Some of the products and co-products are aimed at the automotive, energy, agriculture, construction material, and pulp and paper markets. This fibre separation facility (decortication plant) is expected to provide new farm income for about 200 farmers, putting more than 12,000 acres into cultivation, said John Baker, president and founder of Stonehedge. They secured $2 million in funding from Great Britain and met with the British Consulate on Wednesday, Northumberland County chief administrative officer Bill Pyatt told County council Wednesday afternoon. "Hopefully they'll be able to obtain provincial and federal dollars as well," Mr. Pyatt said. "This industry will supply all of North America."

Group seeks to decriminalize marijuana in Miami BeachSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 06/21/2010 - 15:12.
Pro-marijuana activists, backed by the director of the `Cocaine Cowboys' documentaries, are pushing to decriminalize marijuana in Miami Beach BY DAVID SMILEY dsmiley [at] MiamiHerald [dot] com Miami Beach voters could cast ballots for Mary Jane come November should a budding effort to decriminalize marijuana possession in the city gain traction. In front of City Hall Wednesday evening, the Committee for Sensible Marijuana Policy announced a drive to gather signatures in support of a proposed amendment that would make ``personal'' possession of marijuana in Miami Beach a civil code violation punishable by a mere fine. ``We're empowering local government to deal with this differently,'' said Ford Banister, the group's chairman. Banister hopes to put the proposal before the city's voters in November.

RECOMMENDATION: Legalize commercial hemp production, the sooner the better to capitalize on first mover advantageSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sun, 06/20/2010 - 10:12.
In 1998, Canada legalized hemp as a product and began national development of hemp related industries. Prior to making that decision, analysts consider the economic cases for and against developing the hemp industry in their nation - a major decision - and they decided: RECOMMENDATION: Legalize commercial hemp production, the sooner the better to capitalize on first mover advantage. Since then, Canada has certainly taken a "first mover" advantage with the hemp industry and developed a bright green economy, with $10s billions in national benefits providing 100,000s of jobs in their nation, in about a decade. Looking forward to legalizing the industrial hemp industires for Ohio and America, look back to the late 1990s, when Canada as a nation decided it was time to be independent of foolish American legacy policies and develop their hemp industries, which has been a great decision. In brief, here is the recommendation of Commercial Hemp Cultivation in Canada; An Economic Justification:

Petition for State Initiative: Permits personal marijuana, hemp cultivation/use without license; commission to regulate commercial marijuana cultivation/sale Summary: Currently, marijuana cultivation, possession and delivery are prohibited; regulated medical marijuana use permitted. Measure replaces state, local marijuana laws except medical marijuana and driving under the influence laws; distinguishes “hemp” from “marijuana”; prohibits regulation of hemp. Creates agency to license marijuana cultivation by qualified persons and to purchase entire crop. Agency sells marijuana at cost to pharmacies, medical research facilities, and to qualified adults for profit through state stores. Ninety percent of net proceeds goes to state general fund, remainder to drug education,

How Biomass Energy Works - From the Union of Concerned ScientistsSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Thu, 06/17/2010 - 13:28.
How Biomass Energy Works - From the Union of Concerned Scientists To many people, the most familiar forms of renewable energy are the wind and the sun. But biomass (plant material and animal waste) supplies almost 15 times as much energy in the United States as wind and solar power combined—and has the potential to supply much more. There are a wide variety of biomass energy resources, including tree and grass crops and forestry, agricultural, and urban wastes. It is the oldest source of renewable energy known to humans, used since our ancestors learned the secret of fire. Biomass is a renewable energy source because the energy it contains comes from the sun. Through the process of photosynthesis, chlorophyll in plants captures the sun's energy by converting carbon dioxide from the air and water from the ground into carbohydrates, complex compounds composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. When these carbohydrates are burned, they turn back into carbon dioxide and water and release the sun's energy they contain. In this way, biomass functions as a sort of natural battery for storing solar energy. As long as biomass is produced sustainably—with only as much used as is grown—the battery will last indefinitely.
