Creating Stronger Schools Takes a Team: Working Together for Our Kids... Stronger Schools for Cleveland Kids Working Together for Our Kids.
Educators are not bystanders in our schools. We are on the front lines with students every day and must be partners if any transformation is going to succeed. We are committed to working with all stakeholders who care about creating the best possible future for our children, their families and our community. Unfortunately, Schools CEO Eugene Sanders has snubbed our attempts at partnership.
Instead, CEO Sanders rushed through plans to close and repurpose over twenty schools before the next academic year. Problem is, nobody at those schools – students, parents or teachers – are being told what will happen to them. We understand all too acutely Cleveland’s tough economic situation. That is why we invested time and energy in developing cost-saving proposals. We have come up with credible solutions that would save more than $20 million over the next two years. We hear a lot of blame-the-teachers rhetoric coming from CEO Sanders. Teachers have been supporting and proposing proven reforms, but we can’t accomplish any of it alone. Neither can the district. We all share the same goal of giving Cleveland’s children the best possible future. It is vital that we join together to work toward this goal…for our kids. Join us in supporting Cleveland’s children. Click here to sign a petition calling on CEO Eugene Sanders to work with us in finding solutions that put kids first. CMSD teachers battle system
Conspicuously absent from this article--Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
Recently, convicted Sanders crony Dan Burns had retired out from system. Sanders is reported with thirty something years. Are these guys double-dippers, too? If so, PD--please say so. Will district ever collect thousands (millions?) stole by Briggle, Burns (and, no doubt, Sanders, too)?
Last of all, glad that someone here mentioned most evil of the double-dipping lot--land baron Rokakis. How about his buddy Frangos...did Rokakis negotiate the double-dipping PERS pension for him, too?
