debra sheperd, Tremont West Development Corporation - reply by guy templeton black and yogi with helpSubmitted by Quest-News-Serv... on Wed, 01/21/2009 - 01:52.
dear debra, we need you - i beg you don't stop your activisim- as a twdc board canidate and community activist- for about 40 years - i promise you a full investigation- "the glass is half full - not half empty-" "life is a mystrey to be lived not a problem to be solved" if i was you as i have in the past - i would file a criminal and civil rights violation to the federal bureal of investigation and the internal revenue service and the inspector general of ohio and all the inspector generals of the federal goverment that use funds to fund twdc via city of cleveland, state of ohio etc., as you may know the f.b.i., - i.r.s., etc., media is investigating- cleveland and cuyahoga county in general and elected officials- i wear a bullet proof vest and carry a legal gun- and yogi, k-9 partner - does explosive, biological, search and rescue plus is a service k-9- because of my life has been threaten and i have been shot at- and home - auto damaged etc.- police reports filed over the years because of my working with the police powers and military and federal law enforcement agencies over the years to expose corruption that president barack obama - and other are exposing " the slash and burn - take no prisoners - anything goes is so corrosive to our democracy and we've got to fight this because it turns people off politics in general and leaves that space to be occupied by special interests that determine how the goodies are to be passed out...." barack obama, nov. 23, 2004- as you may well know i was banned from tremontleaders yahoo group and tremonter and ohio city yahoo group and now semi-banned from ohio city 2 yahoo group because of the above and my posts that exposed the crime in tremont and the corruption - gentrification-etc., and the things that i was posting years ago have come true- and twdc board members and others have called the police on me and violated my civil rights also- but i have 40 years of friends in high and low places - so the dirty tricks don't work- and i treat my socalled adversary as if one day they will be my friend- for example - as i work with law enforcement and military and secret goverment agencies to fight prevent enemies forgien and domestic of america because of my oath as a united states armed forces veteran - at the same time in the same agencies a certain department may be investigating me- the same with the great cleveland police department - there are one or two or three racist ignorant poice that have harressed me over the years in tremont but most police don't allow thems selves to be used politically- as the same for twdc employees i honor them because they have to pay the home car family payments survive and are caught in the middle of the twdc board which hasn't the best interests of the citizens verses business's- etc., as barack and millions of others have stated- so back to twdc - we can totally disagree but at the same time be civil and respectfull as i do - i tell them they are doing a good job - although when i'm aboard member twdc will do a far better job for the people with the hundreds of thousands dollar budget- i accused sammy of acting like a italian mafia person- yet we are civil and respectfull to each other - tom cook, president of the board stated at the last meeting " guy even if you count the votes your self you'll still be suspious" i'm stationg that the election isn't above suspision and open etc., - karen moss, board member stated at said meeting to me "guy if you came to the meetings instead of just running for the board every year" this after i spoke out about twdc should have the courage to demand tax abatment for poor and middle class older homes - not just new and expensive homes- so i said to karen moss "your critical about me to make it look like i don't do any thing but you all banned me from tremont leaders and other things" karen said " i with draw my comment- the golden rule - " do unto others as you would have them do unto you" sandy smith, at a punk bar with few drinks in her or something else- probably felt angry - anger comes from guilt and fear - thats why the police know not to take these type of police reports serious he said she said - politics in tremont- free speech at a public place - could you have sent an email a certified letter - do you have to- lets all meet and arbitrate- twdc bylaws and articles are going to be rewritten in essence to be much more inclusive and they will do a far better job- everything and more that you been fighting peacefully for is going to tremont twdc america the world the universes- i'm calling for the board by just a board but the members have the controlling vote all members- and there is no clear way to identify a member - so anyone can show at the jan. 29th meeting and sign as a member and vote but no checks and balances to make sure they are a member and also after in case voting dispute - keep the ballots 90 days at least - election abservers - ballotts counted by independent persons or volunteers not just board members from other development coro., that may have a secret agenda to elect pro business money corrupt pay to play favors political canidates - anti-poor disadvantaged low income etc.,- debra - go to youtube and my space and type questministries and you will view 25 or so videos and see the harressment i received at lincoln park for "stating truth to power"- also debra you can sue for slander libel civil rights violations- when i presented my bio for my canidacy for twdc board at twdc- chriss garland said "guy we can't take you 6 ( 2 sided) page bio because it will cost us to much money" i said "why" chriss said " paper" i said "i will donate paper" chriss said "it will cost us more postage" i said " no it won't that much because last year i had a 3 page and the before i had 4 page" chriss said " sandy yarboro" will decide as the committe chairperson for canidates " i said no she won't" " would you tell barack obama what you just told me - pretend i'm obama - chriss you got calls on my bio pressure" chriss laughed a big laugh- the new great secretary procha (spelling) was there and she agreed with chriss - we wished each other a good day- i made some calls - they called chriss - i left a nice voice mail for chriss "your doing a great job and your a great spirit but i will file a law suit in court to force you to accept my 6 page bio" later i received the below emails from chriss- so debra unless they start shotting at you i beg you to keep up the goddess good work - barack didn't give up- you could be president of twdc board - so can i- keep em from passing out controlling the goodies let me know if i can be of future help- eternal thanks, yogi and guy Guy, >> I received your voicemail as well as your referenced email from Deane >> Malaker. >> >> First off, I apologize for any confusion that I may have caused. she doth protest
hmm TWDC and D'bra - unsubstantiated allegations all over the place.
No you threatened me <ouch - b*tch>
No you threatened me first <pow - biff - BAM!>
CAT FIGHT!!!
Geez I have always operated on the premise that one is innocent until proven guilty, so I am really confused as to why anyone feels compelled to "defend their name."
I thinks she doth protest too much.
And there my friends is the drama.
Then again maybe this is just a pretext to dirstract from the actual threats and violence truly going in our community.
Okay folks . . . move along . . . nothing to see here . . .
cute Jean...
sorry folks, shes a disgruntled ex-lover from 10+ years ago...
Best of Tremont
You guys make Tremont fun... that's the first time I've laughed aboiut this situation...

Right now TWDC is taking a
Right now TWDC is taking a beating. It seems like just a handful of people are screaming and yelling - maybe that's true - but you ever hear "where there's smoke, there's fire."
A lot of folks are becoming disenchanted with the neighborhood organization that was created to benefit those in need. Reading the Charter will clear that up for you. The charter says nothing about TWDC trying to step outside it's own area and taking over properties that other CDC's won't bother with in other locals. We need to utilize our PAID staff to take care of our business. However, they so remind me of the cartoon "Pinky and the Brain." They're trying to take over the world. We have more than enough families in this area that are either below the poverty level, low income, elderly, working two jobs to feed their families, people that could use help with their homes.
It's not just a couple of people that are "fretting" or mud rucking, for some time, Lincoln Heights block club has been unhappy with TWDC and has been discussing breaking ties with TWDC, those who are being singled out by the stepped up housing code enforcement are surely not happy, condemnation orders being supported by TWDC are not giving people any reason to stand up and cheer so lets not lay all the blame on just one or two people.
While given reasons to chuckle, yea, I laugh out loud on many occasions, because this whole situation has given some cause to cackle sometimes for the simple reason - what are they so scared of? you ask questions? you get ignored, Tom Lenehan asked to be present during the counting of the votes and the board voted no - basically, and since I taped the meeting, saying there would be no monitors this year - Why not? well, since the tellers (vote counters) are staff members from our neighboring CDC's, and are funded by the same organizations, wouldn't that be a conflict of interest?
There are so many irregularities/conflicts of interest with the staff and board of directors, unfair and unbalanced representation but there is one point for sure to be paid attention to - and that is - NOT EVERONE IS THROWING DARTS AT TWDC WITHOUT GOOD CAUSE OR FOR NO CAUSE AT ALL. SOMETHING MUST BE AMISS FOR SO MANY AND MORE THAN ONE BLOCK CLUB TO CONSIDER BREAKING TIES OR STARTING A COALITION OF THEIR OWN? Or, maybe it just that somebody thought that it was time to start asking questions - and when you start asking questions and then you start getting dubbed "negative," "a hater," and sometimes even a liar, even though you've kept really good records, lots and lots of photos, taped recordings of the meetings, research their OWN minutes and quote them, and can produce these records, documents and such, it's kind of hard for TWDC to say that some of us are just trying to stir things up, shed a bad light or tell tales out of school.
Also, why have representatives from the Near West Neighbors in Action started sitting in on some of the meetings of TWDC?
glad to oblige!

West Side Sun News Top Story " A Tale of Two Tremonts"

A tale of two Tremonts
Few things expose longstanding distrust between two sides more than an election.
That distrust has re-emerged in the weeks leading up to the Jan. 29 election of trustees for the Tremont West Development Corp. which coordinates neighborhood revitalization and improvement programs, including the spending of taxpayer dollars.
The two sides are the haves and the have-nots in Tremont -- developers and new, wealthier residents on one side; lower-income, older residents on the other.
Some dues-paying Tremont West members, including at least two who are running for board seats at next week's annual meeting, complained that the election process needs to be more transparent, based on past elections.
They claimed votes were cast before the annual meeting was called to order, votes were counted in private by people who had a stake in their outcome and that ballots weren't kept after the election.
At a Jan. 13 meeting of Tremont West's board, several members asked the board to allow election monitors, possibly from Cleveland State University or by block club representatives, to oversee the vote. The request was tabled.
"They were asking for a change in a longstanding process just two weeks out from the annual meeting," said Chris Garland, executive director of Tremont West.
He said the question has been referred to a bylaw committee co-chaired by board members Lynn Murray and Tim Jenkins.
Tremont West's bylaws say a vote or other business can be conducted at the annual meeting if a quorum is present. The bylaws define a quorum as being at least 20 percent of the membership or 40 members, whichever is greater.
The problem, as some members see it, is they can't get a straight answer from Tremont West staff as to how many members there are. The bylaws state that someone must join Tremont West more than 30 days before the election in order to vote in that election. The membership list must also be occasionally purged of people who have moved away or died.
"The vote is rigged," said Guy Templeton Black, a lower-income candidate for the board. "I asked them how many members there are and they said we're working on that.' They've been working on that for years. You can't tell who is a voter due to no checks and balances."
Garland said the number of members would be announced at the annual meeting.
"A Tremont West member is literally any stakeholder," Garland said. "It's not just a paid member. It can be any resident and employee in Tremont. That's the broad spectrum. There are 9,000 people in our service area."
Candidates for board president plus seven trustee seats are to be nominated at the meeting, which will start at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at Our Lady of Angels/St. Joseph Center, 2346 W. 14th St. It will be preceded by a dinner at 6 p.m.
Jerlene Justus, who has lived in Tremont for 40 years and a dues-paying member of Tremont West, said she will ask for a floor vote at the annual meeting to bring in election monitors to observe the vote.
"Secrecy is my concern," said Justus. "Why can't an organization tell you how many members they have? We just want a fair and balanced election with transparency."
But not all who have raised concerns about the election process are older Tremont residents.
"The election needs to be more transparent and election monitors would help," echoed board candidate Eric Russ, a new Tremont resident and a young professional. "It would only help (Tremont West's) effectiveness in the community and give the board more legitimacy."
From their website, TWDC looks like a failure
I just took a look at TWDC on-line and what a pathetic little website... and ten paid staff. Lots of BIG PLANS with lots of gaps and blanks... how is the big man in charge of the SII doing?... seems a bit over paid if he has $1,000 to waste on big-boy politics like floating Cimperman for Congress.
Do you have preformance evaluations on your staff? What are they paid and what do they do to further the mission and vision of TWDC each day? I'd say you are getting ripped off, whoever is paying this tab (uh, that would be all taxpayers, I suppose).

The tale of two Tremonts
The tale of two Tremonts continues - I received a call from Guy Templeton a bit ago - giving me a briefing on the Safety retreat at the Merrick House this morning and how he felt that not only was the meeting a wash but that Sammy was there with a video camera and that this time it was the story of TWO TOM CATS - WITH THEIR TAIL TIED TOGETHER - between Guy and Dave Mehring.
Now come on folks - Guy has lived in Tremont 65 years - he knows every street, alley and walkway like the back of his hand. He knows where all the old buildings used to be and what they looked like - he's been poor all his life - he has the documents, a lot of which are in his bio submitted to TWDC, to back up his works in the community. So, he's a bit colorful - he gets excited - he get's worked up - most people don't know that many years ago, while out on his "neighborhood watch" he and his dog Rusto saved a man's life in Thurman alley (the man had been shot and left) if I'm not mistaken there was a write up in the pd about it) - he isn't afraid to speak up for the poor - he's not afraid to get on the phone and dig up donations and get others to help.
I'm sad to see how a lot of people in this neighborhood treat an elderly gentleman just because he's different, or doesn't think the way everybody else does - you got to remember, he been there - all the new comers in this area will never be where Guy has been - or know the life Guy has known - where's your respect?
Get it together, GUY IS A TRUE TREMONTER by all rights - if you don't like what he writes, don't read it - but give the man his dues -
You know that disability has no age limit, no gender, no color, doesn't care if your rich or poor - and drops in like a thief in the night - something all of us must consider.
IF I WAS OUT THERE ON THE STREET AND MY LIFE WAS IN JEOPARDY, I WOULD ONLY HOPE THAT GUY TEMPLETON BLACK AND YOGI BEAR WOULD BE THE TWO OUT THERE WALING AROUND
A TALE OF TWO TREMONTS
Today's West Side Sun features a front page caption of "A Tale of Two Tremonts." As I read the quotes, I was a bit puzzled by the reference made to a 'by-law committee.' The by-law committee was just started - the first I heard of it was at the January 13 meeting when a stratgic plan for 2009 was passed around. I'm not sure that it's even met yet. Chris Garland refers to "paid" members - who are "paid" members? I will be more than glad to work on a by-laws committee.
As far as a member being any steakholder, again, the by-laws spells out who are members - and I will say again, all block clubs keep registration sheets, all committees keep registration sheets, those who do not wish to participate in block clubs or committees can go to Tremont West office and fill out a REGISTRATION CARD - why do this if no one is keeping tabs on how many people participate in clubs, comittees, etc., or register - at any given time they should be able to, at least, give you a ball park figure of how many members are in the organization. As far as 20% or 40 which ever is greater - maybe the candidates and members would like to know for themselves what the actual numbers are - before the election - and it is a reasonable question.
And as far as election monitors, what's wrong with having monitor's? you wouldn't think suggesting election monitor's would create such a stir. Since I've become involved with TWDC I have come across many things that have caused me to be suspect. Secret meetings, questions that don't get straight answers, evasive answers, questions that get ignored all together, behind the scenes committees that are not posted for all the membership's awareness, not to mention attitude when in-house actions are questioned - everything is "restricted" everything operates off of "privacy issues."
The article refers to the haves and the have-nots - well, I have come to understand why the have-nots feel so left out when it comes to participating in the activities of the committees, board, programs, etc., because if they don't agree with those running the show - they are frowned upon and not exactly encouraged - even talked down to at times - it is only when someone who is not intimidated by the high and mighty rulers that things get stirred up -
nice job!
nice job of framing the issue.
how can you argue with transparency around an election - especially after what we just went through nationally? this aint high math...
Because they are stupid
From what I see, your Neighborhod Development Corporation is the victim of stupidity. Seems stupid people are quoted saying stupid things in the paper today, so call them out. Stupid words. Stupid people. Sometimes, they do get hired... seems to happen around here lots! That way their stupid leaders can blame stipidity on little stupid people... pretty smart, in a stupid way.
Demolishing Giglio's house was stupidity that must be punished.
Demolishing the East Bank of the Flats was stupidity that must be punished.
Common person behind both of these demolitions was your councilman Cimperman.

WALMART DONATES TO TWDC TO AID LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS
SPEAKING ABOUT HIGH MATH - Also, if you read the West Side Sun news today - under the photo on the right-hand side (West Side Sun 'Person of the Week' - second paragraph - dated Thursday, January 22, 2009.
"Walmart made a donation to the Tremont West Development Corp. so it could reduce the burden of mortgages on low-income residents."
Why hasn't anyone heard about this? Think maybe there are some low-income residents in Tremont that could use some relief right about now? Or is this another one of those 'well kept secrets' - under the suspices of a privacy issue.

Yea, we have to be careful -
Yea, we have to be careful - working for change - for those that are less fortunate - speaking up for the Frank Giglio's of this area - not being able to afford their "affordable" housing - standing up the long-time residents of this neighborhood who are not bankable - make us "negative."
Yea, we have to be careful -
OH, I forgot to mention Sammy's Urban Sustainability - CSU/Levine College of Urban Affairs - working toward MA - anybody know who's picking up the tab on that - NPI would be my guess.

You all got any extra funds laying around you don't need to save your beat up old houses - well, click on the above - Sammy needs to make up for that $1,000 he donated to Cimperman. Maybe that's where the Walmart donations went?
Squabble
this seems to be all about brewing a personal fight and less to do with creating community substance. It's really headed toward gibberish when it should be about moving forward on the gist of conflictual matters in a form that people can react to. Can the few that are going at it maybe take a step back and take in the possibility that the audience doesn't want to have to be cheerleaders or set-up as bitching patsy's. Cause this is painful to read....
