LeBron James at get out the vote for Obama rally with Russell Simmons in Cleveland Ohio

Dear Cleveland Cavaliers,

As you well know, 100,000,000s of people look up to you as community leaders and role models - these are responsibilities you accept as sports and public figures who are intentionally "in the news", for profit.

You work for the Cleveland Calaviers, owned by Dan Gilbert, who wants to open a gambling casino in Cleveland.

Those who are responsible about social justice will insure you gambling will hurt the most fragile people of your community and the most vulnerable of your fans.

If you do not speak out against gambling and building a casino in Cleveland, and against legalizing gambling in Ohio, your fans must assume you personally support gambling. This is not an issue about which our sports leaders may opt out, especially as you are subjects of $ billion gambled each year.

As fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and citizens of Ohio and the world, we look to you for your position on this matter. Do you support gambling or do you not?

Please let us know here or in any other way you see fit.

Thank you, best regards, and continued success in your diverse careers, on and off the basketball court. We must all live with your decisions well beyond your time playing sports.
