Just a few thoughts regarding this topic, submitted at our More Better forum at CIA. Many variations are possible - depending on how this is interpreted - but what comes to mind for me is activism on the part of NEO residents in matters of international importance. This could also be taken as actively promoting regional arts and cultural assets and events to a global audience. Regarding the former, I am a proponent of the 'Think Globally, Act Locally' maxim which encourages the application of global change strategies to the local (NEO) domain. A good example of this would be working to bridge the digital divide in East Cleveland as a means of facilitating cultural interaction. Regarding the latter (promoting opportunities globally)- perhaps hosting a 'World Arts Expo' in NEO that celebrates the wonderfully diverse art forms, culinary treats, and cultural gems unique to various cultures.
