Mr. FitzGerald has much work to do to protect the community against the systemic corruption by some prior and current county officials. It is a sad thing when judges like Kathlenn Ann Keough, Lynn McLauglin Murray, Tim McGinty and John O'Donnell can fix cases so freely with Chief Judge Nancy Fuerst perpetuating it. It's a sad thing where these people send innocent people to jail and seem to have no thoughts about it. They should join former judges McCafferty and Terry and be prosecuted to the fullest. And the PD should stop promoting McLaughlin Murray and McGinty--Kathy Wray Coleman
The same officials that targeted minorities in East Cleveland, Cleveland's East Side, and eastern suburbs via the delinquent property tax foreclosure scam with Plymouth Park Tax Servicesare the same officials that are now making development plans for East Cleveland since they "cleansed" the area for their developer buddies. Explain to the public at large why the Landbank should get $7 million a year to survive in the world of rehabbing houses and why this money is predominantly for the ADMINISTRATION COSTS?????
IF A REHAB CONTRACTOR CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO BUY, REHAB, AND RESALE A PROPERTY WITHOUT PUBLIC FUNDING; THEN HE ULTIMATELY CANNOT BE SUCCESSFUL...BUT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO USE OUR TAX DOLLARS TO FUND A NOT FOR PROFIT THAT IS SIMPLY OVERPAYING ADMINISTRATORS AND HAND PICKED CONTRACTORS TO CONDUCT DEVELOPMENT???
GET REAL CUYAHOGA COUNTY...THIS PERPETUATES THE DEMISE OF THE REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT COMMUNITY FOR PROFIT IN THIS COMMUNITY....NOTHING THAT THE LAND BANK IS DOING INSPIRES INVESTORS FROM FOR PROFIT ENTITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR REGION UNLESS IT IS ALL ABOUT PAY TO PLAY POLITICS...

WE HAVE BEEN RECEIVING CDBG FUNDS FOR 36 YEARS....DO YOU SEE THE PROGRESS?
LOOK AT THE GUT WRENCHING RESULTS OF THE DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES OF HUD IN OUR COMMUNITY OVER 36 YEARS AND HOW THE NEIGHBORHOODS HAVE DEMISED OVER THAT PERIOD.

The Cleveland Foundation, The Gund Foundation and the CDC's haven't finished the job yet.
They are getting close to the finish. Close to the bottom.
Isn't it ironic? The do gooders have destroyed Cleveland.
This isn't a thesis. This is fact.
Angelward14 has hit the nail on the head.
The reason is that the CDCs and the Foundations always cut their own in on the funding - and this totally skews all reality and all market forces.
Thus all the funds the CDCs and the Foundations spend actually promote not the public good, but are directed for the selfish (both intellectually and financially) benefit of the players.
Two large scale examples are: 1. the Cleveland Foundations seed funding the wind turbine study with Bill Mason at the helm - which was a total waste of public money and community energy, (worse than a waste of public money, it was a tragic diversion at a critical point in time from what should have been done with wind turbines in NEO) and 2. the funding by the Cleveland Foundation of the "study" which influenced the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to close schools and shed teachers during the Sanders/Raskin era.
But this is nothing...for forty or more years Cleveland has been sinking, going down the toilet, getting wasted...while the Foundations and the CDC's continue to practice self dillusion ("We've got it all together") and the buddy $y$tem.
