Thanks to REALNEO's lmcshane for pointing out one of the most interesting developments in the American "sustainability movement" ever - what appears to be Chicago's real news source, The Chicago Reader, broke the news, September 4, 2009, that "The Green Mayor's Green Policy Maker Leaves for Vancouver". This is the story of former Cleveland and Chicago area sustainability guru Sadhu Johnston, now set to become the deputy city manager of Vancouver.

You can sure feel the tension on my street and in my neighborhood, because some neighbors started speaking up about problems in the neighborhood and with other neighbors, who are causing harm. While my street has quieted down, there is bad energy here and directed from surrounding streets, from which teens have come to start fights here.
I sort of don’t pay much attention to the Plain Dealer sports pages. But it’s hard not to read them since there’s so little else to read in the paper. So last week I caught Bill Livingston’s spanking of pitcher Cliff Lee.
Max Eternity - From the Think Progress website it is been reported that in just one day, more than 200 former Obama staffers, combined with 13,000 Obama volunteers and 23,000 Obama donors, signed a petition sponsored by the Progressive Change Committee, which stated in part that a healthcare bill without a public option "would not be change we can believe in."
If nothing else, today proved to me the power of magic realism. Nelson Cintron is a good man, a kind man and a man gifted with the power to transform. He is not a perfect man, but like all of us, when he tries, he can perform magic.
WKYC’s Tom Beres remains one of the few serious reporters on local television. That said, it’s shameful that his “Between the Lines” Sunday show too often has conflict of interest written all over it.

To some degree or the other, we all have a Chappaquiddick in our lives - a turn we took wrong. This narrow bridge changed the course of US history, most likely.
Today I went on my first run of the Rescue Railroad. I was invited to ride shotgun on one leg of the journey to Mansfield, Ohio and back to Cleveland with three of the original twelve little dogs that first started out on this run. The engineer of this particular leg was Ted Thelander of Near West Neighbors in Action.
I believe that six of the canines were transported by one driver all the way to New York and the other six were divided into two groups for convenience of the transporters.
