Once a year, during the brief run of the Cleveland International Film Festival, Cleveland feels like one of the great cities of the world. For a little more than a week the grand space of Tower City is filled with life; diverse crowds of art lovers flow in and out, steadily buzzing with excitement for what they are experiencing. Because it only happens once a year, it is easy to overlook The Cleveland International Film Festival as one of Cleveland's greatest assets.

On April 1st, 2009 at 4pm, the Fine Arts Department will present "Tunes from the 'Toons: Cartoon Music from Mickey Mouse to Wall-E," a lecture by Daniel Goldmark. On March 7th, 2009 at 2pm the Fine Arts Department will present Javier González, piano (faculty member at The Beck Center and Baldwin Wallace Conservatory) and Gabriela Martínez, soprano (member of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus) performing music from Spain and Latin America. The recital will be on the 3rd floor lobby of Main Library (325 Superior Ave., Cleveland, Ohio, 44114).
Materials and supplies collected from local architects and interior designers will be distributed to arts educators, art students, and artists at the ZeroLandfill Akron project site in downtown Akron.
