Freedom and Jeff
Freedom and I have been together 10 years this summer. She came in as a baby in 1998 with two broken wings. Her left wing doesn't open all the way even after surgery, it was broken in 4 places. She's my baby.

The area around Lincoln High School, in Cleveland, Ohio, near Meyer Avenue did not have as much trash thrown about today, August 21, 2009 as it did on Sunday, and I was happy to see the improvement. Someone must have been out there cleaning the area. I was able to recruit my husband and my son to help me pick up trash in the area. We removed about a garbage bag and a half of trash from the area. The parking lot of Lincoln West had a lot of broken glass on the pavement, and weeds were growing around the lot. Not a pretty site for a public school prope
Looks like planned abandonment is the agenda for this school, too. Along with the Cleveland School of the Arts, John Marshall and other local landmarks.
At approximately 6:10pm this evening, Ward 14 Tremonter Activist Henry Senyak was chosen (elected) to fill the vacant seat on the Tremont West Development Corp., Board of Directors.
This momentous occurrence unfolded during a TWDC Board meeting this evening wherein no discussions took place prior to the election. The nine voting members present, hastely waiting to fill the empty black chair, agreed to "get on with it" and mark their ballots (I believe it was on stick-em name tags).

Usually when Cleveland City Council takes action, it is to give away a public asset to a private corp. This legalizes theft from the Citizens of Cleveland.
Zack Reed did get one thing done. At every road entering Cleveland City proper, there is a No Texting while Driving sign. They are up because of the legislation Mr. Reed advanced and had passed.

"The name "Breaks" was derived from the break in Pine Mt. created by the Russell Fork of the Big Sandy River as it carved a 1000 ft deep gorge on it's way to join the Ohio River. A work of nature often called "The Grand Canyon of the South."

Here's the good news, because if the Port Authority is crippled, NEO will be more able to advance. Sorry, Adam. Thanks to ML for bringing this to my attention.
Max Eternity - In this MSNBC video (found here) Arianna Huffington converses with Keith Oberman; where in a rare move, she places most of the blame for the healthcare fiasco squarely on President Obama's shoulders. Thus far, however polite, this is some the stongest language that Huffington has used to date when critiquing Obama's policies. Too, Huffington's choice of words might come as a bit of a surprise, because she was, through the channels of her media empire, The Huff
The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is planning to drop “Transit” from its name. You can tell that because it keeps eliminating transportation for people. In fact, it can change its name to the Greater Cleveland Downtown Pleasing Authority.

When Jennifer Eddy first saw an ulcer on the left foot of her patient, an elderly diabetic man, it was pink and quarter-sized. Fourteen months later, drug-resistant bacteria had made it an unrecognizable black mess.
Doctors tried everything they knew -- and failed. After five hospitalizations, four surgeries and regimens of antibiotics, the man had lost two toes.

NATURAL ANTIDOTES TO BIOLOGICAL TOXINS SUMMARY
The threat of biological warfare is real and concern over preparedness of the civilian population and medical professionals is growing. There is virtually no practical way that vaccines, antibiotics or other treatment can be delivered to a frightened populace in a timely manner during a crisis. The current strategy of having an unprotected citizenry travel to physicians' offices or hospitals to receive prophylactic care or treatment is unfeasible.
