When the op-ed from today's PD becomes available to link, I will post it here. Meanwhile, let's all play the finger-pointing deflect blame game. It worked when you were a kid and it still works today!
The move of Eaton Corp. out of downtown Cleveland was preordained back in the late 1980s by Mayor George Voinovich and Council President George Forbes. They opened the land to development as both of them were preparing to leave their respective offices.
You have to wonder why the County Commissioners have any staff, never mind a former stripper on the payroll.
Having privatized the construction and management of the proposed Medical Mart and Convention Center, the Plain Dealer reports that it will hand MMPI (Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc.) the task of also dealing with Forest City Enterprises on the proposed site for the center.
While she has taken to criticizing the County Commissioners and how they run the government, she has some work to do in her own town. You would think in an affluent Westside suburb like Bay Village there would be little to worry about. Not so under the management of DebFEE Sutherland.
I thought I would share it with all of you because I-Open just wouldn't be without your generous guidance and contributions to our work in Open Source Economic Development in Northeast Ohio over the last five years.

(By the way, the County Arts & Culture tax has produced $12.7 million this year and $29.8 million since Feb. 2007. Shouldn’t there be enough there for any real film needs?)
You would have to describe last night first public hearing on the medical mart & convention center issue in Cleveland Heights as at least amusing. It was hardly productive. The meeting, scheduled at 5 p.m., started nearly a half hour late and then after a nearly 10 minute introduction by sponsor Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones the podium was passed to Squire Sanders & Dempsey boss Fred Nance. He took another 40 minutes of time talking about the report.

If an apple a day keps the doctor away, what is the economic value to Northeast Ohio of bringing fresh, local fruits and vegetables to poor, unhealthy, underserved inner city places like The Star Neig
